Healthy Eating Plans Promote Weight Loss

Healthy eating plans are an essential component to both health and a healthy weight. Anyone whose weight has yo-yo'd knows how a poorly established weight loss diet can back fire. After months of deprivation, fighting cravings and suffering with hunger you may reach your goal weight only to celebrate with french fries. This resets the cycle to gaining it all back and then some.

There is a common misconception that dieting and weight loss is about restriction and categorization. People believe foods must be classified as "good" or "bad" and foods that are "bad" are not to be eaten. However this type of thinking and dietary restriction cannot be maintained for the long term, and so your will power wanes and the weight returns. In reality, healthy eating plans don't involve denying yourself the foods you crave. They are all about giving yourself what you deserve.

Healthy eating plans promote long term weight loss success. The trick to success is in how and what you eat.

Obviously to lose weight will require some self control as you won't be able to indulge every craving for ice cream and soda. But what if you can minimize or eliminate those cravings? By eating foods that increase metabolism and eating every three hours, or 4-6 times a day, you'll keep your metabolism high, stop cravings and prevent bingeing.
Healthy eating plans should consist of carbohydrates, protein and "good" fats with every meal. This means that for breakfast you might have oatmeal with yogurt. Lunch may be a salmon salad with balsamic dressing and dinner could be quinoa with lentils and veggies. Fill in snacks throughout the day with nuts or seeds, flax seed crackers and raw vegetables.

By devising healthy eating plans you are making lifelong changes that you can live with. You won't be denying and restricting, but worshiping your body by giving it the nourishment that it needs. Your cravings will be reduced and you will finally be able to not only enjoy food but feel good about what you are putting in your body.
